This website should answer any questions you might have. But if you do want to call for a natter, do give us a ring or drop us an email.

!!IMPORTANT!!!

Due to even more Coronavirus, we've postponed AGAIN to:
August 28th 2021.

All other details remain the same. Really hope you can all still come!

!!IMPORTANT!!!

Who?

If you don't know who we are then either you've come to the wrong website or we've sent an invite to the wrong address. If it's the latter, you might as well come anyway as your food and drink have already been budgeted for.

What?

What's a Civil Ceremony?

After our Civil Ceremony, we'll have entered a Civil Partnership. The legal status, rights and responsibiities in a Civil Partnership are the same as Marriage, just with a more modern flavour. So there will still be a ceremony, photos, a meal, a reception and a hangover. Ideally in that order.

Music

We've engaged the services of a karaoke band - "The Bandeoke Experience" - to play at the reception. Just like a normal karaoke, but with a real live band instead of a machine. If you want to get ahead of the game and see what songs might be on offer, here's the list. It'll be sign up on the night, first-come first-served. Participation is absolutely non-mandatory.

Where?

Wilton's Music Hall

Wilton's is a genuine Victorian music hall, built in 1859 by real Victorians. It's a beautiful historic building and still a working live venue. Here's the website.

Accessibility and house rules

Wilton's has original wood floors, but heels are fine to wear. If you are planning on dancing all night though, you might like to bring some spare flats (unless you want to take home some splinters as a souvenir of our special day).

Sadly, no pets allowed in the venue except assistance dogs.

If you have any questions about disability access, just let us know.

Accommodation

Being central London, there are plenty of hotels in the area including the Leonardo Royal London Tower Bridge and the Tower Bridge Premier Inn.

If you fancy something a little different, there's a floating social enterprise hotel 25 minutes away on the DLR called The Good Hotel.

Getting there

Public transport

Nearest tube stations are:

  • Aldgate East (+10 min walk) H+C District
  • Tower Hill (+11 min walk) Circle District
  • Shadwell (+13 min walk) Overground DLR

There are also plenty of buses going to and from the area.

Driving

There's limited parking immediately around the venue, but there is a 24 hour public car park about 5 minutes walk away.

More details here.

Gifts

Not only have we lived together for over a decade, but Lindsay has also been Marie Kondo-ing our possessions so we don't really need any gravy boats or toasters. We consider your attendance a gift in itself, but if you want to contribute to our honeymoon then thank you very much.
